The Competition will be fierce this summer!

After much deliberation between the CPPL and the APBL, we have decided to make the APBL 7-man division an "Open Class" Division. Please note that there is a restriction preventing "Pro" and "Semi-Pro" from being rostered. This does not affect CXBL ranked players as they are defined as "D1" players.

"We hope by opening up the division it will create a league where players can compete against the best and become the best." says league commissioner Allan Johnston

Will Gould, APBL Representative, says "The open class will allow teams to fight it out to see who really is the best team around. Also with the CPPL now on board we can see how our [Maritime] teams will fair at the national level."

Don't hesitate! Contact us to get your 7-man team registered right away.

7-man is alive and well in the Maritimes!!

This past Saturday was the first of many "7-man Saturdays" promoted by the Dundee Sports Dome. The goal of these open and formatted practices is to "introduce" the Maritime ballers to the new 7-man format promoted by the APBL.

If this weekend was any indicator of the future, this season is going to be UNFORGETTABLE. There we teams from all over, including New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. It was nice to see these teams work together to compete against each other.

At the beginning, you could say the strategy was somewhat "X-ball-ish" involving lots of individual moves and pushes. Players soon realized they had to work together to win. As the night progressed, there seemed to be more method and strategy emerging. There was more multi-player bumping and pushing and the communication seemed to flow more as more games moved on.

There was lots of exciting movement up the field including multiple bunkerings down the snake and edging out the last remaining players.

After speaking to the players, they are very interested in competing in the APBL, whether it be for one event or the entire season.

If you want a taste of what 7-man is all about, come out next weekend. You won't be disappointed!!

APBL & DRAXXUS JOIN FORCES

Draxxus, the company that you have come to trust and respect for  many
years, has joined forces with the APBL to once again supply players with
some of the best paint on the market today!

The APBL with it’s ever desire to give players the best paintball experience has
once gain raised the bar by bringing the World’s leading paintball manufacturer to
all of their events.

The APBL wanted to give players one thing less to worry about when they step
on the field, and to be able to completely trust what they were shooting. That is
why we are proud to announce that DXS GOLD will be the official grade for the
2011 season.

APBL League commissioner Don Bouchard says: ”Draxxus is the paint that majority
of tournament players in Atlantic Canada have come to trust for so many years,
Its reputation is valued by not only players everywhere but by field owners as
well. For us the decision was easy, Draxxus is long time PROVEN paint, and we
believe that players deserve to shoot the very best, also their Eco Fill is a perfect
fit with the APBL green philosophy”

The APBL Goes 7-man

The Atlantic Paintball League (APBL) has officially shifted its format over to NPPL Based 7-man.

APBL Representative, Will Gould says "We feel this format showcases each competing team's skills and will bring back camaraderie among teams. This format also displays each team's ability to work together as a cohesive unit."

Another huge announcement is that the APBL has joined forces with the Canadian Paintball Players League (the CPPL). CPPL Commissioner, Mike Carey had this to say “The addition of the ABPL to the CPPL is further progress for our league. It is a continuation of our mission to begin a new era in paintball for Canada. We have the same principals, values and integrity as the APBL, adding this league was an easy decision, we looking forward to working with the top paintball league in the Atlantic Provinces.”

If you are interested in learning more about the APBL or learn how you can play in the APBL, we will be having an information session at the Dundee Sports Dome in Moncton NB on February 13th at 1PM.
